Mable M. Hairston, 76, of Martinsville, VA departed from this life on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Stanleytown Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Martinsville, VA on November 26, 1949, to the late Calbert Hairston, Sr. and Bessie Johnson Hairston.
In addition to her parents, Mable was preceded in death by one brother, James A. Hairston.
Mable was a member of Mt. Sinai Apostle Church where she served as an Usher and on the Kitchen Committee. She retired from Martinsville Health & Rehab Center as a CNA. Mable was a graduate of Albert Harris High School class of 1968.
Mable leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience through her beloved son, Victor L. Hairston of Martinsville, VA, one brother, Calbert Hairston, Jr. of Martinsville, VA; and her devoted sons and daughters, William Hairston of Sumpter, SC, Allen Price of Atlanta, GA and Jeff Davis of Washington, DC, Desseri Newman of Java, VA, LaTonya Robinson and her husband Chris of Martinsville, VA, Sonya Tarpley and her husband Jeffrey of Greensboro, NC and Yvonne Price of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 12 noon at Mt. Sinai Apostle Church, 7 Peters St., Martinsville with Bishop James C. Richardson, Jr., Eulogist. Interment will follow at Price Memorial Gardens, Ridgeway, VA.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 935 Blankenship Rd., Apt. 8, Martinsville beginning Monday, January 12, 2026, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. daily.
