Mr. Marvin Stinson

10/29/1939 - 12/23/2025

Mr. Marvin Stinson entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2025, joining his Heavenly Father. He was born on October 29, 1939, in Griffin, Georgia, to the late Pauline Stinson and Will Stinson.

Marvin attended the Griffin/Spalding County School System and graduated from Fairmount High School in Griffin, Georgia in 1960. Following graduation, he proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He was a faithful member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, where he served for many years on the usher board and in the choir.

Mr. Stinson was employed by Southern States in Hampton, Georgia, where he worked faithfully for over 40 years until his retirement.

Marvin enjoyed farming, listening to blues music, being a devoted B.B. King fan, cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, keeping up with the latest politics, and watching action movies and westerns. He spoke plainly, offered practical advice, and shared comforting words. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was a good friend to many.

Marvin was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lucille Marie Stinson on June 11, 1962, in Barnesville, GA. Their union was one of love and companionship and lasted for many years.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucille Marie Stinson; his children, Patrick Stinson, Will Stinson, and Phyllis Stinson; and his parents.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters and two sons: Jennifer Stinson of Atlanta, GA, Melissa Stinson of Milner, GA, Jeff Mathews of Maryland and Paul Stinson of Milner, GA. He is also survived by two sisters: Carolyn Stinson of Riverdale, GA and Lois Bennett of Markham, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Penny Stinson; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
