Funeral Services for Mr. Sid Hamilton, Sr. of Atlanta, GA., will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026, 11:00 A.M. at The Chapel of Donald Trimble Mortuary. Pastor Dwight Cook, Jr., Officiating, Eulogist. Interment, Washington Memorial Gardens, Decatur, GA.

Mr. Sid Hamilton, Sr., was proceeded in death by his brothers Zebbie, J.C., Bobbie, and Henry Hamilton; his sister Elaine Gray; and son Sid Hamilton Jr. Sid attended David T Howard High School where he was actively involved in student government and the varsity football team. He graduated in 1964. Sid later joined the Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. H.F. Shepard, where he served faithfully as a deacon and was a devoted member of the H.F. male choir. He was employed at Our Way, now known as Carrier, where he worked as an HVAC builder for 44 years before retiring. Sid had many hobbies with baseball, and basketball being his favorites. He especially enjoyed playing basketball with Leslie J Steele parent's and friends. Sid was a devoted Braves fan and loved taking trips to the casino. He also cherished quality time with his grandchildren. In 1965 he married Bessie L Smith and together they were blessed with three wonderful children. Gloria, Tresaca and Sid Jr Hamilton. Sid leaves to cherish his loving memories to his daughters Gloria (James) Pledger, Tresaca Hamilton. His grandchildren LaQueta Pledger;Christopher (Nikki) Pledger and Sidrian Hamilton. Granddaughter Crisan Pledger. Cousins: David Edwards, Anne Williams and Sidney Hamilton. In-Laws:Claudia Riley Lorenzo and Lonnie Smith. Companion: Mattie Myrick and other relatives and friends. Sid was loved by all he met and will be missed.
