Jacqueline Parks Walls was born on October 5, 1959, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Barbara and Hannibal Parks. Jacki was the oldest of their 3 children. Jacki received her education through the Memphis City Schools and graduated from South Side High School in 1977. Jacqueline continued her academic pursuits at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and subsequently at the University of Memphis. In her youth, Jacki was baptized by the late Rev. A. McEwen Williams at St. John Baptist Church, where she served as Youth Choir Director and participated in the Red Circle Girls Missionary Group. Her commitment to community engagement included over 20 years as a singer with the Operation PUSH Choir and various other Memphis Gospel choirs. Jacki devoted most of her free time ensuring her daughters, Yolanda Anding and Ayana Walls, participated in school-related activities that would develop them into strong confident young women. She supported their academic journeys and extra-curricular activities as a Cheer Mom at Whitehaven High School, Grace St. Luke Episcopal School and Harding Academy. For many years, Jacki was part of the Parent group who regularly attended all of her daughters' performances in Watoto de Afrika, a Performing Arts Group. Jacki proudly witnessed the graduation of Ayana from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. For more than ten years, Jacki was an active member of The Life Church, contributing to the Greeters Team and singing in the choir. She began her professional career at the Internal Revenue Service at age 23 and retired after 39 years of service, earning numerous awards for leadership and work ethic. Her interests included participating with the Hickory Hill Sizzlers line dancing group, performing both locally and nationally. She enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Corey (CJ), traveling, shopping, dining with friends, and regularly participated in annual Cancer Awareness fundraising walks throughout Memphis. Jacki Walls is survived by her parents, Hannibal and Barbara Parks; daughters, Yolanda M. Anding and Ayana K. Walls; sister, Cheryl Parks Ajamu; brother, Michael H. Parks; grandson, Corey Pollard, Jr. and Cousin Kelvin D. Gaston and many relatives and lifelong friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17th, 2026 from 10:00 am - 11:55 am at St John Baptist Church located at 640 Vance Ave Memphis, TN. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 17th, 2026 at 12:00 PM in the St John Baptist Church.
