Obituary For James Singleton

James Edward "Bobby" Singleton, 75, died Wednesday, January 30, 2019. He was the son of the late Willie S. and Annie Lee Patterson Singleton.

Bobby was baptized at an early age and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church. In the year of 1965, he relocated to Washington DC. He attended Southern Friendship Baptist Church.

Bobby was educated in the Kershaw County School System. After becoming a resident of Washington, DC, he became employed at The Shell Corporation and part time at Friendship Animal Hospital, where he retired after many years of service.

Cherishing his memories are two children, Bobby Fitzgerald Singleton of Denver, CO and Bishara Singleton of Lancaster, SC; two brothers, Roscoe Singleton (Mary Francis) and Carl Singleton of Heath Springs, SC; three sisters, Willie Lee Carter and Darlene Chavis (Emory) of Heath Springs, SC and Joe Ann Mackey of Lugoff, SC; two aunts, Athella Anthony of Lancaster, SC and Bessie Harris of Statesville, NC six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Heath Springs, SC with burial in the church cemetery by the Rev. Dr. Bennie L. Stinson. Viewing will be Friday, 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Stewart Funeral Home.
