Mrs. Elenita Pennington Utley, age 89, was born on November 4, 1936, and peacefully transitioned on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Duke University Medical Center.

Mrs. Utley dedicated over 40 years of faithful service to North Carolina Central University, where she worked until her retirement. She was known for her strong work ethic, commitment, and the lasting impact she made through her years of service.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1004 Church Street, Morrisville, NC 27560.
Viewing will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 12:30 PM.

Mrs. Utley will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
