Dr. Dana Franklin Segler, age 86, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Dana was born on March 31,1939 in Fort Worth, TX to Franklin Morgan Segler and Fannie Mae Segler. He graduated from Paschal High School in 1956. He later became a Physician Graduate of Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX and after graduation practiced medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Corpus Christi, TX.
Dana pursued many hobbies and passions. He was a pilot, scuba diver, ham radio operator, photographer, avid gun collector and banjo picker. He even built his own airplane. And he loved watching his favorite football team, The Dallas Cowboys.
Dana is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Samuel L. Segler and his third wife Ellen Jeane Segler.
Dana is survived by his first wife Madeline Ann Burnham and their 3 children, Deborah Ann Chapin and husband Chuck, Dana Franklin Segler Jr. (D.J.) and Wife Julie, and Deirdre Madeline Malone (DeeDee) and husband Chuck, sister Sylvia Annette Segler, second wife Joelle Segler, 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Our family is thankful for all of those that shared their life with him as friends. He will be forever missed.
A private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, Texas.
