George O. McMillan Jr.

02/26/1952 - 01/14/2026

Mercer PA.- George Owen McMillan Jr., the beloved son of Eula G. Stanley McMillan & George O. McMillan Sr. was born on February 26, 1952, in Sharon, PA. George obtained his ultimate healing, departing this earthly life to eternal rest on January 14, 2026.

George's journey began in Farrell, PA, where he graduated from Farrell Area High School, showing his prowess not just in academics but also as a spirited football player. His professional life was spent at General Motors in Lordstown, OH, where he dedicated himself to the fabrication and manufacturing of vehicles. Interestingly, in his younger days, he even took a turn as a horse jockey — always one for the thrill of life!

George’s love for God was without question. A faithful member of the Ruth African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, George embodied faith and community spirit. He believed and practiced the act of tithing to the local church to sustain its ministry and outreach to the community.

His joys were simple yet profound: whether he was shooting pool, hitting the batting cages with his grandkids, taking long drives in his cars, entertaining the ladies or just kicking back with a plate of ribs or a banana split, he embraced every moment. An aficionado of Coke and softball/baseball, George was a lover and avid supporter of the Cleveland Browns until the last month of his life.

George was all about enjoying life to the fullest and sharing that joy with those around him. A giver by nature, he generously blessed others with the gift of his time, talents and treasury. A style enthusiast, he loved to dress to impress. He appreciated his frequent ventures “down south” to North Carolina.

George leaves precious memories among his cherished children Melissa Bryant, Christopher Bryant, Georgette McMillan, and Angelic McMillan, all residing in Farrell PA. His legacy will be forged by his cherished grandchildren: Romeo Jackson, Leilani Bryant, Charles Green III, and Giani Scott.

As George’s faith became sight, he joins the great cloud of witnesses which also includes his loving parents, Eula and George McMillan Sr., who awaited him in eternity.

To honor George's remarkable life, there will be a 10:00 AM public viewing on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Ruth African Methodist Episcopal Church, 95 West Connelly Blvd, Sharon, PA. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Marion G. Wheeler Jr. officiating and Christopher Byrant, George’s son, as the eulogist.

After the committal ceremony, George will be laid to rest upon the serene vista of the Morefield Cemetery’s estate. As we bid farewell to a dear friend, father, and grandfather, let’s carry forward the light he brought into the lives of many. George will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

At this time of intimate need and personal loss, the family of George Owen McMillan Jr. elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with Transitional After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 1059 Hamilton Ave, Farrell, PA 724.983.1523
