David Daniel Smith, Jr. entered into eternal rest on January 19, 2025. He was born to the late Daniel Smith and Rosemary Ferguson Smith on April 21, 1950.
His life's work of 38 years was serving people at the Beacon Drive-In under John B. White. Service to his country was rendered in the United States Air Force for 4 years.
His life in religious service at Majority Baptist Church of Spartanburg, SC later transferring his membership to Mt. Moriah Baptist Churchunder the leadership of Dr. B. D. Snoddy where he served in many capacities such as the Usher Ministry, the Greeters Ministry, Men of God Ministry and Driver for Senior Outreach and After School Tutorial. In 2011, he was honored as Man of the Year. He never stopped giving and this continued gift was his joy and pride.
Outside the church, you could find him involved with the Carver High School Class of 1970 dancing to tunes of the day, loving children and the elderly adults. His joy of late was providing a nurturing environment for the Men of 70.
He was constantly watching football and basketball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen and Vincent; and his sister, Patricia.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are:his wife of fourteen years, Jacquelyn; two children, Jonathan Smith and Patrice Smith Osborne; two adorable grandchildren, Zaniya and Kamiya; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Spartanburg, SC. Burial will follow in the Heriatge Memorial Gardens, Roebuck, SC.
