Obituary For Carolyn Ruth Thomas

Obituary

“God was walking in His garden, one He made with His own hands. The sun was shining on each blossom, young and old throughout all lands. In our family He walked still searching for a lovely; full-grown flower; pausing here, He found a beautiful flower ready to be taken at that hour.”

Carolyn Thomas was born September 2, 1954 to Rosa Allen Thompkins and the late Robert Thompkins (deceased) in Belle Glade, Florida.

Carolyn (Kitty Kat) was a product of Broward County Schools system, where she later became a dedicated and fully committed employee of Broward County Public Schools Transportation Department for more than 30 years.

Our Mother, “Kitty Kat” took her flight on Friday, February 8, 2019 with her family and close friends by her side in Lauderhill, FL. We thank God for lending her to us for these precious years.

As a single mother, Carolyn raised a son and daughter to be a God-fearing, compassionate, respectful, and successful. She always provided endless love, care and consistent encouragement. She was also the ultimate peacemaker. Kitty Kat was a marvelous soul, who lived a life full of fun and love for her family and friends. Every life she came in contact was touched with her contagious smile and warm, caring spirit. She would do anything for anyone who was in need.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: a loving mother, Rosa Thompkins of Lauderhill, FL; a loving and devoted son, Sam Monroe (Lisa) of Lauderhill, FL and a loving and devoted daughter, Tikiya Henry of Newark, Delaware; two loving sisters, Deloris Williams of Lauderhill, FL and Shirlane Coachman (Sherman) of Lauderhill, FL; two loving brothers, Robert Thomas of Lauderhill, FL and Averis Thompkins (Phyllis) of McDonough, GA; two grandsons, Joshua Monroe of Lauderhill, FL and James Mays of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two granddaughters, Alexis Mays of Hollywood, FL and Vanessa McClam of Dallas, TX; one great grandson, Kwahli Higgins of Dallas, TX; one uncle, Albert Thomas of Hephzibah, GA; two aunts Willie B.
