Funeral service for Charles Roberson, 83, of Opelika, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Creekstand A.M.E Zion Cemetery, 2006 Lee Road 165, Salem, AL, 36874, Apostle James Fears will officiate.

Mr. Roberson, who passed away Friday, January 16, 2026 at Tallassee Health and Rehabilitation Center in Tallassee, Alabama, was born May 2, 1942, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, January 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two children, Charles “Charlie” Roberson, Jr. of Salem, AL and Willie “Bo” (Tina) Culpepper of Waverly, AL; five step-children, Lee Garret Johnson, Clem Derell Johnson, John Henry Harris, Mae (Apostle James) Fears of Opelika, AL, Reverend Alonzo (Doris) Harris of Salem, AL; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janelle Turner and Rose Roberson of Syracuse, NY; one brother, Morris Roberson of Syracuse, NY; special caretakers, Marshall Reese and Robert Marshall; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
