Obituary of Dr. Philip James Moser

Dr. Philip J. Moser, 78 passed away January 5th, 2026, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia SC. He was born in Richmond VA. on June 05,1947.

He received his Bachelor of Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He was in the Cadet Core at VPI for four years. He received his Masters Degree in Science and Doctorate Degree in Philosophy with his major in Physics at Catholic University in Washington DC, He later became a Professor at Catholic University teaching Nuclear Physics. He worked at Sperry Corp. and AVTEC Systems.

While attending VPI he met his beautiful wife, Margaret Lee Harrison (Peggy) of 56 years. They made their homes in Cartersville, Falls Church and Kilmarnock VA after retirement before moving to Blackstock SC.

He severed as an officer in the US Army. Did a tour in Thailand during the Vietnam War He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and earned his 3rd degree. He enjoyed reading and watching football.

He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Peggy), his parents Charles E. and Katherine A. Moser, Craven (Kitty) and a sister.

He will always be in our hearts; Interment will be at a later date.
