Mrs. Rosa Dawkins Wilson, 83, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at WFBH High Point Medical Center. She was born on May 5, 1942, in Shelby, NC, to the late William Dawkins and Frankie Smith Dawkins.
Mrs. Rosa Dawkins retired from Woodmark Original and Carolina Springs Industries.
Rosa was a loving and devoted mother, always making time for her children's needs and dreams. She was also a cherished friend to everyone she met, known for her warm smile that could brighten anyone's day. Rosa’s presence brought comfort and joy to everyone in her life.
In addition to her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Gene Wilson, and her son, Larry Donnell Dawkins Sr.; four sisters, Patricia Dawkins Hardie, Barbara Dawkins Hedrick, Mae Frances Dawkins Hardie, Elouise Dawkins Johnson, and one brother, William Charles Dawkins.
Rosa left behind cherished memories of love, her two daughters, Danita (William) Shepherd and Ella (Charles) Dawkins-Mitchell; her two sons, William (Debra) Dawkins and Michael Dawkins; her brother, Ronald Garrison; her sister, Kathy (JD) Moore; and her uncle, Benjamin Dawkins, all of High Point, NC. She will also be remembered by her nine grandchildren, including her special grandson Larry Dawkins Jr., who always answered her calls, and her special granddaughter Cierra (Boo) Dawkins; Andre Fountain; Tabothia Dawkins; Tiera Dawkins; Chinetta Dawkins; Wylham Dawkins; Jayden Dawkins; and Kajaun Walls. Additionally, Rosa is survived by twenty-eight great-grandchildren; her special niece, Ava Collins; her special god niece, Ella Quick; her special nephews, Edward Dawkins, who was her ride-or-die, and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday, February 6, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
