Annie Ruth Hill-Champion

Annie Ruth (Hill) Champion was born on November 15, 1938, to the late Tommy Hill and Lula Mae (Green) Hill. She peacefully passed away on January 27, 2026. She was the sixth of seven children and was preceded in death by her siblings: Lonnie B. Hill, Tommy Hill, Jr., Maime Jefferson, Willie Hill, and Roosevelt Hill.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Doyle Champion. From this union, one son was born, Michael Champion, whom she loved dearly.

At an early age, Annie accepted Christ and joined New Springfield Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member. She served devotedly on the Usher Board until her health began to fail.

She was a hardworking and dedicated woman who was employed in various capacities throughout her life until her health declined. Her places of employment included the Greensboro Appeal, ACTION, Pine Distribution Center, Green Point Nursing Home, and she also worked closely with the Rhodes family. In addition, she served as a caregiver to many families, offering compassion, reliability, and genuine care to those she served.

She is survived by her beloved son, Michael Champion, who was the light of her life. She is also remembered fondly by her sister, Carrie Mae Hill, the following nieces and nephews were like children to her: Carolyn Douglas, Brenda Hill, Mary Hill, Curtis Hill, Reginald D. Hill, Jennifer Tripp, Tony Hill, Monica Hill, and Roosevelt Hill. She also held close to her heart her honorary great-grandchild, Kayden Eberhardt, four sisters-in-law: Helen Champion, Leola Champion, Josephine Williams, and Martha Hill; and two brothers-in-law: Paul Champion and Jessie (Doris) Champion, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and a bonus niece - Jackie Dunn, whose lives she touched with her kindness and warmth.

Annie will be remembered for her unwavering faith, strong work ethic, caring heart, and the countless lives she touched through love and service.

Service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026 from New Springfield Baptist Church, Siloam Georgia at 1pm with Pastor Roi Johnson, Officiating
