He is survived by his daughters, Alice Carmon and Barbara Sumner (Darren), New Bern; sons, MacArthur Howard (Veronica),Anthony Carter, New Bern and Ernest Johnson, CA; sisters, Nellie Strickland, Burlington, Arlene Rasberry, Raleigh and Leather Hall, Jasper Community; seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
