PALMETTO – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at St. Matthews Baptist Church in Palmetto, LA for Mr. Michael Ray Edwards, 70, affectionately known by his family and friends as “Riley”, who entered eternal rest on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Avoyelles Manor Nursing Home in , LA. Interment will be held in SW Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, LA.

Bishop Leon Figgins will be officiating the funeral service.

Mr. Michael Edward’s memories are being cherished by: his son, Darrice St. Romain (La’Pourch Williams) of Ville Platte, LA; daughter, Cicily St. Romain (Donald) of Opelousas, LA; one sister, Patricia Ann Edwards of Palmetto, LA; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Paul and Vivian Texada Edwards; one brother, Clarence Edwards; one sister, Hilda Mae Blossom; and the mother of his children, Hilda St. Romain.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Matthews Baptist Church.
