In the heart of Youngstown, where the sun first smiled upon him, Da'Mari Tyrell Walker, affectionately called Mari Boy, graced the lives of many for a fleeting yet beautiful moment in time. Born June 8, 2025, in Youngstown, Da'Mari was a bright spark, a treasure held by his beloved mother, Ta'Niya Greene, and his proud father, Kieonte Walker.
His tender spirit returned to its heavenly place on January 25, 2026. Though his journey was brief, the joy Da'Mari brought into the lives of his family will forever echo in their hearts.
Da'Mari leaves cherished moments with his parents along with his siblings Dior and Diamond. He is embraced in memory by his grandmothers LaTosha Greene, Damona Walker, Francine Boone, and Antornette Hightower who will forever cradle his laughter in their hearts. His grandfathers Leonard Hightower Jr. and DeWayne McCullough will forever remember his infectious love and laughter.
Da'Mari's great-grandparents Marlon Everson, Leonard Hightower, Sr., Sheila McCullough, Lamont Wagner, and Tammie Greene, join the chorus of those who will cherish his fleeting light, while his great-great grandmother Ruth Reddings along with his extensive family of aunt, uncles and cousins, will continue to hold him dear in thought and spirit.
As Da'Mari entered eternity, he was cradled by his great grandfather Daniel Walker and great- great grandmother Flossie McDonald. In our hearts, Da'Mari will always shine bright-a little but bright star whose glow will guide us forever.
To honor Da'Mari's short but impactful presence, the family invites all who knew him to celebrate his life. A 10:00 AM public viewing will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave, Youngstown. A remembrance ceremony to celebrate his life will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lewis W. Macklin II as the celebrant.
In these moments, let us carry the warmth of Da'Mari's smile in our hearts as we remember the joy he brought into our lives, a brief but brilliant light that will never fade. May Da’Mari, our God-given angel, sleep in heavenly peace.
At this time of intimate need and personal loss, the family of Da'Mari Tyrell Walker elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with Transitional After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 2234 Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio, 330.782.8500.
There Is A Special Angel
There is a special Angel in Heaven that is part of me.
It is not where I wanted him, but where God wanted him to be.
He was here but just a moment like a nighttime shooting star.
And though he is in Heaven he isn’t very far.
He touched the heart of many like only an Angel can do.
So I send this special message to Heaven up above.
Please take care of my Angel and send him all my love.
