MRS. WENDY RENEE BRIDGEFORTH HOOD- Age 59 Of Resaca, Georgia passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Wendy Renee Hood of Resaca, Georgia danced her way into heaven on February 4, 2026. Born on November 7, 1966, in Gardena, California to John Samuel Bridgeforth and Alverrene Bridgeforth, Wendy brought light, joy, and kindness into the world from the day she arrived.

She grew up in Diamond Bar, California, where her creativity and joyful spirit were evident to everyone who knew her. Wendy loved putting on plays for the neighborhood children, riding her bike with friends, and “playing restaurant,” happily cooking through an entire week’s worth of family groceries. Even in childhood, she radiated hospitality, imagination, and a love for people.

Wendy built an extraordinary career with Nordstrom, where her dedication, warmth, and leadership made her a beloved and respected presence for many years. Through hard work and a heart for service, she rose through the ranks to become both a buyer and store manager at various locations, touching the lives of customers and coworkers with her grace, generosity, and genuine care.

Her passion for helping others discover strength and wellness led her into a second, deeply fulfilling career as a personal trainer and martial arts instructor. Wendy spent countless years supporting people on their journeys toward healthy living, encouraging them with patience, knowledge, and her trademark joyful spirit.

A gifted cook and advocate for wholesome eating, Wendy wrote the colorful and uplifting cookbook Yummy Food That’s Good for You!!, reflecting her belief that nourishing the body could be fun, flavorful, and full of creativity. She shared her talents with children across Georgia while teaching cooking and fitness at Montessori schools, inspiring young minds to move, explore, and grow.

Above all, Wendy was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, sister, and treasured friend. Those who knew her will forever remember her radiant smile, her contagious laughter, and her deep, abiding relationship with God. Anyone who crossed her path felt her love immediately warm, sincere, and overflowing.

Wendy had a special passion for gardening, praising, and moving her body. She found peace and joy in the rhythms of nature, worship, and wellness. A strong woman of unwavering faith, Wendy trusted the Lord through every joy and every challenge. One Scripture she held close was Joshua 1:9:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage;
do not be afraid, nor be dismayed,
for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Wendy is survived by her husband of 37 years Dennis Hood, Son Tyler Ray Hood, Two Daughters Tori and Taryn Hood. Parents John and Alverrene Bridgeforth. Sisters Michelle Lewis and Stephanie Bridgeforth. A brother Michael Bridgeforth (Roland Ducharme). Mother-in-law Wanda Hood, Sister-in-law Paula Hood, Brother in-law Wendell (Kim) Hood and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Wendy’s family was the greatest joy of her life, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Free Chapel Church, 3001 McEver Road Gainsville, Georgia 30504, Eulogist will be Pastor Tim Price.
