Tra’Neia Brishan “Sassy” Whitener, 32, of Hickory, North Carolina transitioned on Friday, January 30, 2026 in Hickory, North Carolina.

She was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina on November, 18, 1993 to Johnathan Travis McLain and Robin Annette Whitener.

Tra’Neia graduated from Hickory High School, Class of 2012.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, February 8, 2026 in White’s Family Chapel at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs AME Zion Church Cemetery.

There will be a public viewing on Saturday from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The family may or may NOT be present.
