James Howard Newnam, 77, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on January 22, 2026, in Graceville, Florida.

Born on April 24, 1948, in Greensboro, North Carolina, James lived a life that included both dedicated service and complicated chapters. He served in the United States Navy; as a Corporal and Fleet Manager of the Panama City Police Department; and later Investigator with the State of Florida Comptroller’s Office. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lula Mae Newnam.

He will be privately interred at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro, NC.
