Rev William Thomas Smith, Jr was born February 4, 1945, in Palmer, Texas to the proud parents of William Thomas Smith, Sr and Mary Taylor Smith.

He received his formal education from Callahan High School in Palmer, Texas. He united and was baptized at Lucille Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev N L Robinson where he received his spiritual education and graduated from Southern Bible Institute after accepting his call to the ministry in 1986.

William met and happily married Julia Mae Perkins, who preceded him in death, to this union five children were born, Katherine, Janice, Cynthia, Lisa and Gilbert Wayne.

He was employed by Ford Motor Company, Ennis Texas he later relocated to Dallas, Texas and was employed by Austin Commercial Construction Company where he retired after 21 years.

In 1984 he met and happily married Annie Claiborne and to this union two children were born, Timothy and Lauren.

In 1987 he was called to pastor the Lucille Missionary Baptist Church where he was the current pastor for 37 years.

Rev. Smith departed this life on January 18, 2026, he was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Smith,5 sisters, Alma, Annie Mae, Florence, Brenda, Mary Helen; 4 brothers, Alvin, Ike, Charles Ray, Melvin Louis; son – Gilbert Wayne; daughter-Katherine.

Cherishing his memories are his wife of 41 years, Dr. Annie Smith, his legacy will live on through his 6 children and 16 grandchildren, his daughters, Janice Cervantes (Ramero), Cynthia Morrison, Lisa Smith, Lauren Wilson (Kevin) his sons Timothy Smith, Tommy Wayne Foster. Sisters, Annie Carol Smith, Linda Smith, Ennis, Tx; Brother, Edward Smith (Wanda), Dallas, Tx. Sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Hamilton, Evelyn Moore, Shreveport, La, Flora Williams, Houston, Tx. Brothers-in-law Rev John Claiborne, Florence, SC, Donnie Claiborne (Phyllis), Baton Rouge, La, Johnathon Claiborne (Taquita), Richmond, Tx; God-son- Bruce Taylor Jr (Nia) the Lucille Missionary Baptist Church and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
