Funeral service for Evangelist Bernice Elms, 76, of Lawrenceville, GA, will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Fort Deposit Municipal Complex, 260 Old Fort Road, Fort Deposit, 36032 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL, 36801, Bishop Carterris Tucker will officiate.

Evangelist Elms, who passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026 at her home in Lawrenceville, Georgia, was born December 27, 1949, in Lowndes County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, February 6, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Evangelist Elms will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

She leaves to cherish her memory: five children, Peaches Vernesa Wagner of Opelika, AL, Sharla Andrea Wilson of Birmingham, AL, Elisha (Penny) Adams of Pensacola, FL, Lorenza Lance Adams of Athens, GA and Chester (Ashlee) Adams of Lawrenceville, GA; twenty grandchildren; four sisters, Earnestine Simmons of Mt. Willing, AL, Jessie Mae McWilliams, Bobbie (Herman) Witton of all Pahokee, FL and Annie Nell Bonner of Pensacola, FL; one brother-in-law, Isaiah Dunklin of Greenville, AL; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
