Mrs. Monica Rae Brewton entered into rest on February 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with Leimyosarcoma.

Monica was born and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and was a proud member of the 1985 graduating class. Following graduation from high school, she attended The Ohio State University and received her Bachelors in Hospitality Management.

Monica settled in Atlanta in the early 2000s and spent over 20 years in the East Point area. She proudly worked in sales at the Emory Conference Center Hotel for 23 years.

Monica found joy in sports and was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes including their National Championship winning football team.

She will be remembered most for her infectious smile and outgoing personality. Monica was predeceased by her parents John and Joyce (nee Coleman) and siblings David and Joy.

She is survived by a number of family members including aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Monica’s family would like to thank the select friends that were closely involved with her care and Ms. Delores Harris, who was like a second mother to Monica.
