Mrs. Shirley Ann Ross, a resident of Montgomery, AL. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 14, 2026, from True Divine Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery.

Mrs. Shirley Ann Ross, born May 23, 1945, in Mauvilla, Alabama, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

A devoted educator, lifelong learner, and servant of her community, she touched countless lives through her faith, service, and love for others.

Her legacy of humility, kindness, and dedication will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Shirley accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Mauvilla, Alabama.

Shirley graduated in 1963 from Rosa A. Lott School in Mobile, AL, where she was the valedictorian of her class. She attended the Mobile Branch of Alabama State College in 1965, and went on to attend the main campus of Alabama State College in 1966. She graduated cum laude in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Elementary Education. Shirley later attended Oakland University where she earned a Master's in Reading. She spent over 35 years shaping the minds of young children in the Pontiac School District.

Shirley was an avid reader, writer, traveler and enjoyed nurturing beautiful flowers.

Shirley Ann Ross was preceded in death by her husband, Quinton T. Ross, Sr., granddaughter, Katelyn Nicole Toussaint, parents, Reverend James and Lettice Rice, three brothers: Clyde (Veronica) Rice, Edmond (Velma) Rice, Gene (Charlotte) Rice, and three sisters: Janice Sims, Jamesetta (Renard) Mose, Carolyn (David) Davis.

Memories of Shirley’s life and legacy will be cherished by her three loving and devoted children: Quinton (JK) Ross, Jr., Montgomery, AL, Ursula Ross, Pontiac, MI; Quintlon (Jia) Ross, Montgomery, AL; five grandchildren: Quinmari (Kayla Otis) Ross, Pontiac, MI; Quaeshun (Ja’lyn) Ross, Detroit, MI; Myles Ross, Quinton T. Ross, III and Graysen Ross, all of Montgomery, AL; six great-grandchildren: Qualaeb, Bailey, Kennedi, Quincy, Riley, and Justice; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a trusted and faithful friend, Tania Gilbert.
