Funeral Service for Emma Hugley, 87, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 605 W E Morton Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL 36801, Reverend Jerry Dowdell will officiate.

Mrs. Hugley, who passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026 at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL, was born April 8, 1938, in Lee County, AL.

Public viewing will be Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. Hugley will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Bobby (Charlotte) Butler of Athens, AL, Judy (Melvin) Baker and Yolanda Minger both of Opelika, AL; twelve grandchildren, Kenyetta Strickland, Natosha (Goodman) Rivers, Jerry Butler, Jr., Jamarlo (Tanisha) Alford all of Opelika, AL, Damien (Tiffany) Butler of Birmingham, AL, DeCarlos (Melody) Alford of Kennesaw, GA, Lamarcus (Kristen) Baker of Muscle Shoals AL, Walter Alford of St. Paul, MN, Keedra Butler of Memphis, TN, Areil (Vincent) Palmer of Mableton, GA, Darrius (Joy) Alford of Smiths Station, AL and Terence Butler of Atlanta, GA; a host of great-grandchildren; a host of great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Parks of Mt. Clemens, MI, Ethel Reed of Cleveland, OH and Mary Jane Menefee of Detroit, MI; one brother, Clinton Menefee of Opelika, AL; daughter-in-law, Doris Butler of Opelika, AL; special sister-in-law, Gracie Turman of Orlando, FL; two devoted cousins, Carnell Jackson and Julian Shannon both of Opelika, AL; a caregiver and friend, Betty Wimberly of Loachapoka, AL; special friends, Martha Hicks, Daisy Heard, Annie Dorris Williams, Virginia Watts, and Patricia Walker of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
