Frankie Avelo Mosley, affectionately called “Coot” and “Frank James” was born on June 13, 1959, in Blountstown, Florida, to Mrs. Mary Lee Mosley and the late Lorinza Mosley. Frankie was the sixth of twelve children and was a loving and devoted son and brother.
Frankie was spiritually guided and nurtured by his mother and late grandmother, Julia McNealy, at an early age and joined St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church.
Later in adulthood, he became a member of Fresh Start Ministries under the pastorship of Bishop Lonnie Mitchell. Frankie and Bishop Lonnie developed a deep-rooted and long-time friendship and spiritual bond.
He graduated from Blountstown High School in 1977 and afterwards enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served. Following his military career, Frankie moved back to Blountstown and became employed with the City of Blountstown as a firefighter where he dedicated several years.
Although he was extremely proud of all his worldly accomplishments, his greatest joys were spending time with family and friends and fishing with his great nephew, Favian.
Frankie departed this life on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Tallahassee, Florida. He is preceded in death by two of his siblings, Devoria McNealy and Brenda Mosley.
