Gary Johnson
March 22, 1957 - February 13, 2026

Gary Johnson was born March 22, 1957, in Oktibbeha County; to the late Charlie James Johnson, Jr. and Margaree Davis Johnson. He accepted Jesus at an early age, and joined Pleasant Grove Church.

Gary Johnson, graduated from B.L. Moor High School in Crawford, Ms. He pursued his education by graduating from Mary Holmes College, in West Point, MS; where he earned his Associates of Art degree, and Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS where he studied Computer Engineering. He worked 25 years at Bryan Food in West Point, MS. Gary loved farming and reading the bible; his favorite scripture was The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13 KJV).

Gary leaves to cherish his memories; his loving wife Linda Johnson of 35 years; one daughter preceded him in death after birth; one son Darren Macon (Wendy) of Columbus, MS; one daughter Makasha Dorsey who lives in Hampton, Georgia; a nephew he raised like a son Darion Chandler. Five Grandchildren: Tierah Macon, Laila Macon, Briona Green, Justin Dorsey & Jaden Dorsey. Three sisters: Lutishia Stallings, Linda Fye Ivy (Matthew), all of Crawford, MS; Edna Mae Range of Austin, Texas. Three brothers: Bobby C. Johnson (Catherine), Clarence Allen Johnson (Melinda) all of Crawford, MS. Arthur Johnson, M.D.(Shawn) of Fort Smith Arkansas. Two sisters-n-law: Valerie Johnson, and Christine Johnson both of Crawford, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Gary is preceded in death by four brothers: Willie B. Johnson, John B. Johnson and Larry Johnson of Crawford, MS; Thomas Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri and one brother-in-law, Samuel Monroe of Crawford, MS.
