Bennie Edward Hicks, 81, of Whiteville, NC a native of The Historic James City Community of New Bern, NC died February 20, 2026 at Cape Fear Valley.

He is survived by two daughters, Dr. Kereen McCullough, Baltimore, MD and Virginia Jacobs Randallstown, MD; grandsons, Trey Massey Sr. and Tarodd Jacobs both of Baltimore, Desmond McCullough,(En'dea);granddaughter, Daylah McCullough; great-grandson, Trey Massey, Jr.; brother, Terrence Hicks (Eunice), New Bern; sister, Cynthia E. Hicks, Laurel, MD; nieces and nephews.
