Alex L. Lawrence, the son of Alex S. Mayes, Jr. and Shirley J. Godbee, entered into rest Thursday, February 19, 2026, at his residence.

He leaves cherished memories with his son, Alec Lawrence; brother, Anthony (Timekia) Mayes; sisters, Michelle Lawrence, Wendy (Alfred) Bates, Nikki Cooper
Starshica Mayes; devoted partner, Yoko Brown; a host of nieces and nephews other relatives and loving friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 5 pm, Friday, February the 27th at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Greater Young Zion Baptist Church, 405 Sand Bar Ferry Road.
