Marvin Joe Faulk, born on June 28, 1945, in Troy, Alabama, was the son of the late Tanzy Faulk and Polly Rodgers Faulk.
From an early age, Marvin embraced Christianity and became a member of the Hosanna Baptist Church. He graduated from high school in Lakeland, Florida. Subsequently, Marvin enlisted in the United States Army and was discharged from the United States Navy Reserves.
Later in life, Marvin held the position of truck driver at Roadway Express. He was married to Mary Cowart Burns Faulk for forty years. In his leisure time, Marvin engaged in activities such as working in his yard, cultivating his cane patch, and gardening.
Marvin passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Langdale Hospice House.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Tanzy Faulk and Polly Rodgers Faulk; three brothers, James Faulk, Eddie Faulk, and Tanzy Faulk, Jr.; two sisters, Pauline Loreana and Pastorial Simmons.
Marvin is survived by his loving and devoted wife of forty years, Mary Cowart Burns Faulk of Valdosta, Georgia; three children, Sandra Brown of Twin City, Georgia, Patricia Burns, and Vincent Burns, all of Valdosta, Georgia; nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; four sister-in-laws, Ruth Faulk of Enterprise, Alabama, Jeanette Cowart, Eleanor Holmes (Benjamin), and Sheila Cowart, all of Valdosta, Georgia; special niece, Damia Faulk of Orlando, Florida; special nephew, Jeffery Faulk of Orlando, Florida; special cousin, Lessie of Lakeland, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
The celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL 32311.
Public viewing will be held Monday, March 9, 2026 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
