Herman E. Langston, Sr., Age 73, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was born on June 10, 1952 and was a lifelong resident of Chickamauga.
Herman attended high school in Rossville, Georgia, before enlisting in the United States Army at the age of 17, where he proudly served his country. After completing his military service, he returned home to Chickamauga and began building his life and career.
Herman was the owner and operator of Langston Lawn Service for over 30 years, providing lawn care and services to residents and businesses throughout the Chickamauga area. In addition, he worked at Shaw Industries in Ringgold, Georgia.
Herman was preceded in death by his father, Jeff Langston; his mother, Ida Langston; his brothers, Jeff Langston Jr. and Ronald Langston; and his stepdaughter, Tawana Daniels.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Daniels Langston of Chickamauga, Georgia; his daughter, Misty Bailey (Lamarcus) of Chickamauga, Georgia; and his son, Herman E. Langston Jr. of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is also survived by his brothers, David Langston (Maxine) of Chickamauga, Georgia, and his sister, Mary Langston of Chickamauga, Georgia; his stepchildren, Jermichael (Ari) Daniels of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Kendall ( Mellody) Daniels of Rossville, Georgia; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a special friends, James Caldwell and Emory Wood.
Herman lived his entire life in Chickamauga and remained connected to the community throughout the years. He leaves behind family members and friends who shared in different parts of his life and who will remember him in their own ways.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 12:00 noon at Friendship Baptist Church, 20 Parrish Circle, Chickamauga, Georgia 30707 with the Rev. James Clark as eulogist. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
