Carissa Fannie Georgian Redrick, affectionately known as “Crissy” was born on June 25, 1991, in Boston Massachusetts to Dana Robinson and Roberta Redrick, who raised her with love, strength, and unwavering support. From an early age, she displayed a vibrant spirit, a kind heart, and a natural ability to bring joy to those around her.
She was a woman of remarkable character, defined by a selfless nature and a heart that naturally sought to uplift others. To know Carissa was to have a constant source of support; she was the person who stayed for the hard moments and celebrated their joyful ones with equal favor. Whether it was her infectious laughter, her caring nature, or her ability to turn any moment into a cherished memory, she was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She attended Health Careers Academy and Burke High School in Boston but graduated from the New Jersey’s Public Schools where she excelled academically. While still pursuing her nursing degree, she was a Mortgage Loan Officer and Processor, where her dedication and passion left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike. She was deeply committed to her work, always striving to make a difference and leave a positive mark on the world.
More than anything, Carissa was devoted to her family and friends. She cherished her relationships and was a source of strength, laughter, and unwavering support to those who needed her. Her love for her son Landon Camari Summers was what kept her going. When Landon was born; he became her greatest joy and proudest achievement. He was her world and her, “Why” and her nurturing spirit will live on through him. Carissa’s life purpose became making sure that Landon became a wonderful young man. She was successful in surpassing all her motherhood endeavors. Job well done Carissa!
Beyond her professional achievements, Carissa was a woman of many passions. She found joy in traveling, writing her book and spending time with family (her mom especially). Carissa’s love knew no bounds, and she took immense pride in being a PHENOMENAL MOM, a loving daughter, an amazing sister, and an exceptional friend. She is survived by her mom, Roberta Brinkley (Arnold), Son, Landon Camari Summers, Siblings- Dana Redrick (Onyx), Asia Graham (Teddy), Javohn Redrick, Darnell Bartee, Jeraud Ilyas, Aunt, Latisha Redrick (David) and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
While her sunrise was in Boston MA and her sunset in Greensboro NC, the light she shared during her 34 years will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to call her daughter, sister, mother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her dad, Dana Robinson, Grandparents; George Robinson Sr., Fannie Seymour, Lonnie Neal, and Deborah Redrick whom we take comfort in knowing, welcomed her with open arms. Though the pain of her loss is overwhelming, we find solace in the memories she left behind.
