Obituary For Cornelia Sheppard

Mother Cornelia Sheppard was called home to be with the Lord in the presence of loved ones at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC on April 10, 2016 at 4:34 pm .Her transition was quiet and peaceful. She is survived by her children Pamela Hall of Richmond, VA, Grandchild Victoria Masika Great Grandchildren Solomon Masika, Christina Masika, and Destiny Masika along with a devoted Grandson in Law Francis Masika . Also left to mourn her transition is a host of nieces, nephews and other who loved to call her their own. She was preceded in death by her late husband Mr. Fred Sheppard of Richmond, VA , Daughter Barbara Jean Sheppard, Brothers and Sisters John Campbell ,Sam Campbell, Nathan Campbell, Leila Simms, Mary Lewis, and Annie Greenhill . Mother Sheppard was born on May 6, 1925 in Darlington, South Carolina to Nathan and Addie Campbell. After relocating with her family she married Fred Sheppard of Richmond Virginia and had two children Barbara Jean Sheppard and Pamela Sheppard Hall. She was a Nursing Assistant for many years for the McGuire Veterans Administration Hospital in Richmond VA and was a unfailing mother of the church with a strong and loving presence . She was a long standing member of New Hope AFCOG in Richmond, VA and a faithful mother in Divine Kingdom Parachurch Ministry of Durham NC founded by granddaughter Elder Victoria Masika. She would always encourage children and others to love God and serve faithfully reminding them that God’s blessings would always follow. Her Home going Celebration will be on April 16, 2016, at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home 2502 NC Highway 55 Durham NC 27712. All are welcome to attend and celebrate our loving Mother’s life.
