Obituary For Margaret Parker

MRS. MARGARET LOUISE FOWLER PARKER, daughter of the late Alfonso and Martha Fowler was born in Durham County on January 18, 1929. She graduated from Mill Grove High School in 1946. On March 19, 1949, she was united in Holy Matrimony with Floyd Lee Parker and to this union one son Floyd Stephen Parker was born in 1952. She was a License Practical Nurse II at UNC Hospitals at Chapel Hill, NC. Mrs. Parker was an active member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Bahama, North Carolina. She was a devout Christian, serving as chair-person of the Deaconess Board for several years. She was a member of the Missionary Auxiliary, Usher Board, Pastor’s Aid, The Bible Study Class and Sunday School. She was a member of Randolph Chapter Number 185 (OES), where she performed many duties and was presented the Honorary Past Matron Degree in 2003. She was predeceased by her husband Floyd Lee Parker and son Floyd Stephen Parker, a sister Alma Fowler Vereen, brother-in-law John Howard Vereen. She is survived by her nephew Kenneth H. Vereen (wife Melodie Lash Vereen), three grand-nephews (Kenneth, Kevin, and Keith), a god sister-in-law and cousin Dorothy Parker Cole, a daughter-in-law Velma Parker-Johnson (Otis Johnson/husband), a cousin and care giver George Hayes, and a host of other relatives and friends. Family Visitation: March 10, 2016, 7 - 8 pm, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church; Funeral Services: March 11, 2016, 1:00pm; Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Bahama NC .
