Mrs. Mary Couch Jones, the daughter of the late Tezell Eddie Couch Sr and Ella Louise Couch, was born at Duke University Medical Hospital, Durham, NC on November 5, 1948. Mary departed this walk of life on Friday, March 6, 2026 after ongoing off and on acute illnesses and an extended chronic illness under the watchful care of her loving sister Linda Miller and niece Keyla Miller along with the daily health care assistants CNA's Wanda Barnette, Marqetta and Lori; medical services provided by Hospice, Jamar Home Health, and The Home Care Heros agencies.

Mary received her educational schooling from Hillside High School in the Durham Public School system and she was a devoted member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended until her health no longer permitted.

Mary was married to the late James Jones for many years and he departed from life in 2004.She leaves to mourn her death son Joseph Jones, Sr, daughter in law Mesha Jones, son Juan Jones and fiance' Marille Cox, grandchildren:Jeremy Hayes, Lyric Parker, Jayda Parker deceased 2013, Jaleel Jones, Joseph Jones Jr, Jerimiah Jones, and Jaylen Jones. One brother Tezell Couch Jr deceased 2000, two sisters Betty Peace deceased 1966 and Linda Miller, sister-in-laws Donella Couch and Sylvia Jones Harris deceased, nephew Warren Miller Jr, niece-in-law Fitima Miller, nephew Harold Harris, niece Keytha Miller, Keyla Miller, Linda Harris, Hariette Harris, Yolanda Couch, many cousins, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Saturday, March 14 , 2026 | Visitation: 12:00 noon | Funeral: 1:00 pm

Interment: Beechwood Cemetery
