Obituary For Alice McCowan

Mrs. Alice Evans McCowan, 84, departed this life with her family by her side on October 27, 2016 at UNC Hospital. She was a native of Durham NC, and a graduate of Hillside High School Class of 1950 and North Carolina Central University Class of 1976. She was an early devoted member of the Salome Temple 704 in Durham NC and Order of the Eastern Star. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, David A.McCowan, Matthew T. McCowan, three daughters, Marion J. Lamberth, Robin L. Harris, Sheba N. Holman, one brother, Homer Lee Evans, six grandchildren, one greatgrandchild, five nephews, one niece, and other relatives and friends. A viewing will be held at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, November 4, 2016 with family members attending viewing from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Northeast Baptist Church, 3204 NC-55, Durham, N.C.
