OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Greater Union Baptist Church, 1494 Highway 742, Opelousas, LA, for Ms. Clara Coleman, 64, who entered eternal rest on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA. Interment will be held in the Greater Union Church Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Pastor Patrick Lavergne, Pastor Greater Union Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.
Ms. Coleman’s memories are being cherished by: her two sons, Joseph Coleman and Jamar Cretchain, both of Opelousas, LA; one daughter, Jasmine Cretchain (Rakeem) of Opelousas, LA; four brothers, Johnny (Ruth) Coleman of Lake Charles, LA, Daniel Coleman and Joseph Coleman, both of Lawtell, LA, Robert Williams of Houston, TX, and John Coleman of Opelousas, LA; seven sisters, Merline C. Robins Times (Burnell) of New Orleans, LA, Shirley C. Robinson (Willery), Anna Lee C. Ware (Bobby, Sr), Therese C. Hunt (Herman, Sr), all of Opelousas, LA, Genny Lee Coleman, of Washington, LA, Ordell Coleman, of Lake Charles, LA and Dora Mae Jones of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, Rakylie Rose Mae Fontenot, Kilonia Marie Fontenot, Ramyia Blessyn Fontenot, and Braylon Scott Joseph Guillory, all of Opelousas, LA; and Godchildren, Sapphire Lashay Celestine Coleman, Jerimyah Coleman and E’lijah Coleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Willie and Celestine Alexander Coleman, Sr., two brothers, Jimmy Coleman and Willie Coleman, Jr., and sister in law, Flora Coleman.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Greater Union Baptist Church.
