William 'Punchy' Jones, 77, departed this life on November 9, 2016 after a brief illness as a result of complications from a recent surgery. William was a native of Durham. After retiring from Durham Housing Authority (18 years) he became owner and operator of WJ Cab Company. The viewing will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, from 12:00 noon - 1:00pm and the funeral will be conducted at 1:00 pm at Faith Gospel Tabernacle UHC on 663 Troy Street by Pastor Lemuel Gilbert. William is survived by his companion of seven years, Lauri Ashley: five daughters, Keshia Jones, Skye Kenion, Frenchee Holloway, Tonya Garner, Sherry Spencer: two sons, Aundrey Holloway and Timothy Cooper: 10 grandchildren: 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive visitors at 1403 Taylor Street.
