Payton Smith Jr.,86, of Cove City, North Carolina entered into eternal rest Friday, March 20, 2026.

Visitation of Friends will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Friday, March 27, 2026 at Oscar's Memorial Chapel

His Service is 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Mt. Calvary M. B. Church 509 Carroll St., New Bern. The Entombment will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Smith, Cove City, NC; three sons, Kenneth Smith (Kim), Burlington, NJ, Wayne Smith, Las Vegas, NV (Taylor) and Payton Smith III of Colorado Spring, CO; two brothers, Tommy Smith (Brenda) Atlanta, TX and Harold Smith, New York, NY; seven grandchildren; five-great-grandchildren.
