Tequila Civona Jones, 48, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 16, 2026, surrounded by family and friends, leaving a void her loved ones cannot fill.

Tequila was born in Miami, Florida to Barbara Edwards and the late Willie Frank Jones. She relocated to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in November 1978 at the age of one.

She attended William Penn Technical School and graduated in June 1996. Tequila later worked as a home health care provider, where she cared for others with compassion and dedication.

Tequila was a devoted and loving mother to Kiara Evans, Mylea Coles, and Tenajah Jones-Crosby. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Zkarye Coles and Mae’ Lani Coles. She often said their births changed her life for the better, and they felt that deeply through the love and support she gave them.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Frank Jones; her maternal grandparents, Doris Demps and William “Bobby” Edwards; her paternal grandmother, Ethel Jones; her aunts, Judy Fulson and Brenda Smith; and her uncles, Larry, Daniel, and Alvin Jones.

Tequila leaves to cherish memories of her, her mother, Barbara Edwards; her children, Kiara-Tiyea Evans, Mylea Tiere Coles (Laishon) and Tenajah Jones-Crosby, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and her grandchildren, Zkarye and Mae’ Lani Coles.

She is also survived by her sisters, Sabrina Jones and Sarena Jones-Ford of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Tiwanna Ford of Miami, Florida and Jessica Nelson of Georgia and her brother, Willie “Frankie” Jones Jr. of Miami, Florida.

She leaves behind her nieces, Jai’Ahna Jones (Brett), Tatianna Ford and Fantasia Ford, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Eliza Gunraj and Tessa Doleman of Georgia and Layla Jones of Miami, Florida; her nephews, Jeffery Brown Jr., Jason Taylor, Demarcus Johnson and James Downing of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Martin Mathis, Trevon Jones and Calvin Palmer of Miami, Florida and Terrell and Trevonne Doleman of Georgia. She also leaves 20 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Tequila is further survived by her aunts, Carolyn Mosley (Benny), Verna Barns (Winston) and Annie MacDonald, all of Miami, Florida; Ruby McCary of Orlando, Florida and Carnetta Jackson of North Carolina; as well as her uncles, James Jones, William Jones, Sammy Jones (Bulah), Robert Jones and Stephen Fulsom, all of Miami, Florida and William “Bobby” Edwards of Reno, Nevada.

She also leaves to cherish memories of her, her godchildren, Lonique Taylor-McCraw, Lanye Taylor of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Sarena Hill of Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Tequila will be deeply missed by her close friends, whom she considered sisters, Melissa Thomas of Allentown, Pennsylvania; Latia Taylor, Latesha Taylor and Persia Davis of Steelton, Pennsylvania, Brittany Beaty of North Carolina; along with a host of other loving family members and dear friends.

Her life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
