Lionel Lavelle Hawkins

03/25/2026 - 03/25/2026

In the quiet cradle of Youngstown, Ohio, on a day kissed by the gentle breath of spring, a precious soul took its first and final breath on March 25, 2026. Lionel Lavelle Hawkins, a brief light, graced this world with his presence, albeit for a fleeting moment.

Born to a tender embrace, Lionel was cherished by his mother, Tiffany Gayle, and father, Marquis Hawkins. His spirit found companionship in the laughter of his brothers, Amour and Leon, and the innocent joy of his sister, Alaiya. He was a shining star in the hearts of his grandparents, June Gayle, Liza Brown and Marcus Hawkins. He was a blessing to his beloved great-grandparents Sally Hawkins, Thelma Burroughs, and Carl Millsap.

Though his time among us was too brief, Lionel's legacy of innocent dreams and boundless potential will echo within the hearts of those who nurtured him. An angel in our midst, Lionel leaves behind a longing for the possibilities that life held, a reminder of the love that envelops us even in fleeting moments.

As we honor his short but meaningful journey, an intimate celebration of life will be held with family and friends. In the tapestry of life, each thread is precious, and though Lionel's thread was woven for but a moment, the impact of his spirit will be felt eternally in the hearts of his family and loved ones.

At this time of intimate need and personal loss, the family of Lionel Lavelle Hawkins elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with Transitional After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 2234 Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio, 330.782.8500.
