OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Bruce Ashley, 59, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be held in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Rev. Frank L. Ford, Pastor of Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, will be officiating the funeral service.

Mr. Ashley’s memories are being cherished by: his mother, Helen Marie Ashley of Houston, TX and his father, Joseph Ashley (Lucille Guillory) of Lawtell, LA; one son, Nicholas Payne of Opelousas, LA; his companion of 17 years, Jennifer LeBlanc of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Chris Ashley of Opelousas, LA; two sisters, Melisa Ashley of Houston, TX and Alicia Ashley Taylor (Tim) of Pearland, TX; step daughter, Keva LeBlanc of Opelousas, LA; two bonus brothers, Donald (Mary) Guillory and Arthur Lee (Kia) Guillory, both of Opelousas, LA; Godchildren, Lorenzo Robert of Cypress, TX, Braylon Rideaux and Brilyn Rideaux, both of Lafayette, LA, Cyrone Ashley of Houston, TX, Jon’Travien Ashely of Pearland, TX, Deontre Guidry, Dwayne Henry and Kazlyn Roberts, all of Opelousas, LA; one grandson, Londen Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his maternal grandparents, Peter and Etta Fontenot Jacko; paternal grandparents, Ivory and Louella Bryant Ashley; one sister, Missy Ashley; a niece, Arielle Harris; and an uncle, Jody Jacko.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2,2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
