Mrs. Alice Maybelline Robinson Evans, was the youngest of 7 children, born to the late Frank Robinson and the late Mary Mitchell Robinson on September 8, 1931 in Atlanta, Georgia.

She received her primary education in the Atlanta Public School System. Her family later moved to Chicago where she graduated from Dusable High School. After graduation she attended Peters Business College and then began her nursing career at Mercy Hospital in Chicago. After returning to Atlanta, she was employed by Fulton-Dekalb Hospital Authority at Hughes Spalding Pavillion, Egleston Hospital for Children (Children’s Hospital of Atlanta), Department of Army at Fort McPherson where she retired from Civil Service, and the Internal Revenue Service Department of the Treasury where in 1980 she was on the planning committee for the Black History Program.

Mrs. Evans was privileged to take a non-credit business course at Atlanta University where she received a certificate. Mrs. Evans' passion was outreach…feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and telling them about Jesus. In the late sixties, she became a Deputy Registrar for the Fulton County Voter Registration Drive and also volunteered with Reverend Joseph Boone at the Blind Center on Sunset Avenue.

At the very young age of eight, she joined the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia under the great leadership of the late Reverend and Mrs. Cyrus Brown who were her mentors along with her late mother, Mrs. Mary Robinson…exposing her to many Christian settings, attending conventions, Sunday School and Baptist Training Union. Prior to her membership at Word of Faith, she was a dedicated member at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Union Baptist Church, and Good News Church all in Atlanta where she served in many capacities…church choir soloist, speaker on numerous occasions, member of the Atlanta Baptist Missionary Union(WMU), served on the WMU Council and was a facilitator for the Jail Ministry. In 1993, she became the only representative of the Jail Ministry representing Union Baptist Church. In 2010, she received a service award presented by the Chaplain of the Fulton County Jail.

Mrs. Evans became a member of Word of Faith Cathedral in 2003 where she served faithfully on the Intercessory Prayer Team, media room, hospitality committee, an honorary member of the Communion Ministry, member of the Seasoned Saints and a member of the Senior Praise Team Dancers.

Mrs. Evans organized a community Prayer/Bible Study group in her home where several young men were saved. When her daughter, Caron was in elementary school, she organized a children’s club in the community teaching them about Jesus, learning scriptures, and teaching them how to conduct their own meetings and how to save money. It was called the “Jolly Bunch.”

She enjoyed traveling domestically as well as internationally. Her travels included: Hawaii, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Germany, Prague, and London to name a few.
