Rochelle Denise Wiley, lovingly known to those who cherished her as Granny Chelle, will always be remembered for the warmth and strength she brought to the lives of everyone she encountered. On March 26, 2026, Rochelle was called from her earthly labor to her eternal reward, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 30, 1961, in Sharon, PA, to the union of Alvin ‘Butch’ and Mary (Wright) Wiley. Her life was further enriched as she received nurturing guidance from Robert Earl Newby.
As the eldest daughter in her family, Rochelle took great pride in being a source of love and stability for her younger sisters, balancing her roles with grace. Growing up in the Shenango Valley, she became a beloved figure in her community, forming lifelong friendships, particularly as a member of the 1979 Class of Farrell High School and the beloved Market Avenue.
Rochelle’s passion for cleaning and homemaking led her to dedicate her professional life to environmental services. Her work at various establishments, including The Park Inn, Whispering Oaks, and Premier Hydraulics, showcased her strong leadership abilities and commitment to serving others. This dedication ultimately paved the way for her career in private duty caregiving, where she was known for her compassionate care.
Rochelle's heart found its greatest joy in hosting family gatherings, where she filled the air with laughter and the aroma of homemade meals for her loved ones. Her interests extended to thrifting treasures and volunteering at The Prince of Peace in Farrell, alongside her father. A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, she relished every moment spent cheering for her team.
Of all the lives she touched, there were three very important men in her life, her sons, whom she affectionately referred to as her Ma Baes - Sean Rain (Roxanne), William ‘Bill’ Wiley and Jamel Allen, all of Farrell, PA, who was Rochelle’s sheer pride and joy.
Her legacy continues through her cherished Granny Boys- Sean Rudy Rain, Sian Rain, and Syon Rain-as well as her treasured Granny Girls, great-granddaughters Shiloh Nova and Siyah Selene Rain. She also held a special bond with her niece, Myronicka “Bebe” Johnson.
Precious memoires are embraced by her siblings, Mary Wiley, Alan Leak and Verne Wright of Farrell, PA; Gail Leak of Wheatland, PA, Kimberley Wiley of Hermitage, PA and a special brother-in-love, Myron Johnson of Farrell, PA, aunts; Charlene (Edward) Allen of Howland, OH and Amanda (Jerry) Phillips of Clearwater, FL.
Her sisters-by-choice include Alice Denise ‘Niecie’ Robinson, Cheryl (Ellerbie) Covington, Rhonda Keely. Valencia Pierce, DebrahAnn Irby, Michelle Ferguson, Diedra Kitt-Porter, Jamie Williams, Marie Wiley and Sheila Wylie have created lasting bonds. This sisterhood will continue to forge love and commitment through the generations.
Besides her parents Rochelle was preceded in death by her siblings; Althea ‘Nay’ Johnson, Alvin ‘Chip’ Wiley and Daniel ‘Danny Wayne’ Wiley; grandparents William Sr. and Mamie Lee Wright; grandmother Josephine Wiley and uncles Caldwell Wright and William Wright Jr.
Rochelle was publicly given her flowers while she was living recently, however, her life will be recognized with a memorial service, including a ballon release on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Cedar Avenue Church of God, 1045 Cedar Ave, Sharon PA. In celebrating Rochelle's life, let us remember her boundless love, unwavering strength, and the countless lives she touched. May her spirit live on in our hearts forever.
