OPELOUSAS – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA for Mrs. Marie Collins, 81, who entered eternal rest on Friday, April 10, 2026 at her residence in Opelousas, LA.

Father Justin Arockiasamy, SVD will be officiating the funeral mass.

Cherishing Mrs. Collins’ memories are: her son, Michael A. (Claressa) Collins of Opelousas, LA; four brothers, Alex (JoAnne) Labry, Jr. of Patterson, LA, Larry Labry and George Preston Labry, both of New Orleans, LA and Elliot (Delta) Labry of Scotlandville, LA; three sisters, Ethel Mae Warren of Jarreau, LA, Lois Ford of New Orleans, LA and Marian Dunn of Port Allen, LA; seventeen grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Joseph D. Collins; her son, Joseph E. Collins; parents, Alex Labry, Sr. and Eliska Decuir Labry; and two brothers, Charles and Oliver Labry.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
