Frances Kaye Jackson, beloved matriarch and cherished Aunt Kaye, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, at the age of 68, in Youngstown, Ohio. Born on June 29, 1957, in Clinton, North Carolina, the daughter of Bashie (Tatum) Butler and Willie Butler Jr., Frances filled her life with love, laughter, and an unwavering passion for family and friends.
Frances dedicated her life to caring for others after attending Wayne Community College to study nursing where her nurturing spirit and warm smile positively impacted the lives of many. Known for her incredible culinary skills, she loved to cook, grill, and roast delightful feasts for family gatherings. Her hands were a testament to her hardworking nature, whether she was tending to her beautiful garden, nurturing her plants and flowers, or ensuring that her beloved dogs felt cherished.
A proud mother, Frances is survived by her children Trocola (Rodney) Johnson, Victor (Shaquilla) Jackson and Anthony “Dante” Jackson. Frances was the beloved sister to Mary (Harold), Neil Cynthia Profit, Brenda Butler, Ronnie Butler, Pamela (Dennis) Atkinson, and Perline Atkinson. She will also be missed by her brother-in-law Wilbert Evans.
Her legacy is carried on by an extensive family, including 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, each of whom knew her as a beacon of love and strength.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Bernice Butler, Thomas Butler, Anna Benton, Peggy Evans, Roy Butler, Billie Ray Butler and James “Toe-Joe” McNair, who, along with countless friends and family members, welcomed her into eternal peace.
Frances Kaye Jackson will be remembered not only for her love of life but also for her extraordinary ability to bring people together. She truly lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with grace and joy. A public viewing will be held in her honor in the chapel of the J.E. Washington Funeral Home in Youngstown on Monday April 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM-12 Noon, where family and friends will come together to celebrate her vibrant life. Her interment will take place at 8521 Hobbton Highway in Clinton, NC, where she will find her final rest among the beauty of her home state.
