Lillie Ree McGhee
July 10, 1948 — April 8, 2026

Lillie Ree Turner McGhee was born July 10, 1948, in Manchester, Georgia, to the late Alvin Turner and Mary Turner. She was nurtured with strong family values that remained evident throughout her life.

On July 2, 1965, Ree was united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, Thomas McGhee. Their union was blessed with two children and strengthened by 60 years of lasting love, devotion, and partnership.

Ree was employed at Bank of America for many years, faithfully serving until her retirement in 2005. Following retirement, she embraced an active lifestyle as a member of the Helene Mills Senior Multipurpose Facility, where she thoroughly enjoyed participating in line dancing, cardio aerobics, cardmaking, quilting, and fellowship with friends.

Ree passed away on April 8, 2026 after an aggressive battle of cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home surrounded by family.

She was preceded in death by four siblings: Parrie Furcron, Calvin Montgomery, Onzell Kidd, and Norma Prather.

Ree leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband, Thomas McGhee; daughter, Toniki Moon; son, Thomas (Durwin) McGhee; grandchildren: Sierra Moon, Jordan McGhee, Victoria McGhee, and Maya Moon; great-grand dogs: Holly and Theodore; brothers, Alvin Turner (Pennye) and Reginald Turner (Sheronda); sisters-in-laws: Lena Jerry and Betty Terry; brother-in-law, Charlie McGhee (Cherri); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
