Roxie Ann Hunter, 77, of Salem, AL passed on Monday, April 13, 2026 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Salem, AL with Bro. Tim Jenson, officiating. Burial in Mercer Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Mrs. Roxie Ann Miller Hunter was born May 10, 1948 to the parents of Lewellen and Rosezell Miller in Lee County, AL. She was the third offspring of six children.
The book of life closed for Roxie on Monday, April 13, 2026 at RiverTowne Rehabilitation in Columbus, GA after an arduous fight, as she transitioned peace-fully. Reared in the Lee County Education System. She was a 1967 graduate of Sanford High School. Shortly thereafter, she was united in matrimony to the late James R. Hunter. This union produced a daughter.
She was employed with Bibb Manufacturing Company for 30 years as a spinner and USA Labs as a label supervisor. She devoted her life to Jehovah and served until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Ethel Frazier, Mae Olia Hale and Ida Harris.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Sharon Hunter (Hayward) Hall of Columbus, GA; two grandsons, Shederick Hunter of Tallahassee, FL and Xavier Hall of Columbus, GA; one brother, Eddie Miller of Columbus, GA; one sister, Ester (Clinton) Yancy of Salem, AL; one sister-in-law, Sandra Miller of Salem, AL; one aunt, Minnie Stephens of Opelika, AL; devoted companions, Henrietta (James) Duffie and Christine Stephens of Salem, AL and a numerous group of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to share in her memories.
