Deacon James Leonard Cooper, affectionately known as “Coop”, 77, of Smithville, Georgia departed this life on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus, Georgia.

Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Hope Baptist Church, 1681 US 19, Americus, Georgia 31719.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
