Roosevelt Pye, age 81, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 21, 1944, in Woodland, Georgia, to the late Willie Lue Pye and Bennie Pye Sr. and was raised in a close-knit community that helped shape his values of hard work, faith, and devotion to family.

Roosevelt dedicated over 30 years of his life to blue-collar trades, including flooring and construction. He was widely known for his skill, strong work ethic, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

More than his work, Roosevelt will be remembered for the man he was—steady, dependable, and quietly strong. He was someone you could always count on, showing up day after day for those he loved without hesitation.

He had a remarkable gift in the kitchen and was known as an exceptional cook who could prepare just about anything. Every meal he made was filled with love, and time spent with him meant good food, laughter, and lasting memories.

Roosevelt shared a deep and unwavering love with his wife, Ruth Pye, who preceded him in death. His love for her was constant and enduring, and he spoke of her often.

A man of great compassion and selflessness, Roosevelt devoted himself to caring for his family, including a small child and his disabled wife, with patience, love, and without complaint. His actions spoke volumes about his character.

Though gentle and kind at heart, Roosevelt was also straightforward and firm in his beliefs. He lived his life with quiet strength, faith, and integrity.

He enjoyed simple pleasures such as fishing and coffee, and he was known for his unforgettable, hearty laugh that could fill any room with joy.

A master craftsman, Roosevelt had the ability to create something out of nothing with his hands. More importantly, he built a life grounded in faith, wisdom, and love for his family.

Roosevelt Pye was love in action, strength without noise, and a man who gave all he had to those he cherished. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Pye; his parents, Bennie Pye Sr. and Willie Lue Pye; his brothers, Paul Pye, Bennie Pye Jr., and Homer Lee Pye; and his sisters, Minnie Taylor and Essie McCrary.

He is survived by his children, Jeffery Pye, Michael Pye, Tomiko Pye, and Christina Pye; nine grandchildren, Ashton Pye, Ashley Pye, Amber Pye, Aikevias Pye, Ty'Jhaun Turner, A'Niya Pye, Keon Kearney Jr., and Kamaryn Kearney; four great-grandchildren, Aubrie Harris, Kaiden Minniefield, Kashmere Minniefield, and Ka'Milo Minniefield; his siblings, Annie Grace Bailey and John Pye; and a host of nieces and nephews.
